[POSTPONED INDEFINITELY] Crafting Personal Narratives: a Retreat for Memoir Writers

After a long winter, would you like to put some “spring” in your writing? Join us for an energizing retreat at beautiful Wavus Camp on Lake Damariscotta in Jefferson, Maine. We’ll take advantage of seasonal shifting and breathe new life into our writing in a nurturing and creative community. You’ll leave feeling refreshed, with new stories underway and perhaps deeper understanding of your own and others’ work.

Lisa Steele-Maley, author of Without a Map: A Caregiver’s Journey Through the Wilderness of Heart and Mind, and Barbara Burt, founder and workshop leader of From Memories to Memoir, will co-lead activities and facilitate the sharing of our writing. The schedule will include plenty of private writing time, as well as readings, discussions, and an opportunity for one on one consultation with Barb or Lisa. There will also be optional activities to help loosen the body and the mind and take advantage of the beautiful natural surroundings.

The retreat begins at 4 pm on Friday, April 10, and continues until noon on Sunday, April 12. The cost includes all meals and accommodations in a shared room. $150 per person ($75 to reserve your space, fully refundable until March 12). There are eight spaces, which will be filled on a “first come, first served” basis. [NOTE: As of 1/9, there is one spot left.] Once full, we’ll also maintain a waiting list in case of attendees’ changes in plans. To reserve your space, contact Lisa at lsteelemaley@gmail.com or Barb at barb@barbspen.com.
